I'm a designer, and I think if you work in fashion, you have to give people fantasy. |
The city's skyline was continuously evolving and the biggest (and tallest) change was the Millennium Tower in the heart of SOMA. This 60 floor skyscraper had recently just opened and four designers were given the opportunity to design and decorate four of the condos for an event called Icons of Design Tour. I thought this was an awesome opportunity to get inside the building and take in the views from the top floors, as well as experience what the fanciest interior decorators the city had to offer. Something for me. . . something for Kathleen! |
Kathleen and I walked over to the building and I noticed as we walked up, she was completely perplexed to be walking into one of the newest and fanciest building in San Francisco. We zoomed up the elevator to the top floor and I think for a second she thought we were going to our new home (maybe I was a secret millionaire?!?!). But once we stepped out of the elevator, reality greeted us with several other Looky-Loos.
As we sauntered from one room to the next, Kathleen fawned over the interior decorating (check out this review) while I wistfully stared out each window and took in the views from high above. We could see most of San Francisco and Oakland, the Bay , Alcatraz, and both bridges from the 360 degree views on this beautiful day. We discussed what we liked and disliked, and pretended we actually lived there.
This Mystery Date was sort of like buying a lottery ticket. You don't really expect to win, but the fantasy is well worth the price of admission!
