Chris has always been a fan of Eric Clapton and seeing him live in concert was at the top of his bucket list. When I read Clapton was coming to San Jose on tour, I knew I needed to get tickets FAST. Not long after I invited Chris on the MD, he asked if I could possibly change the date because ERIC CLAPTON WAS COMING TO TOWN FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY! Sorry bud, maybe next time… ;)
On the night of the show, I had to keep my cool, but I was also super excited and wanted to blurt out, “WE’RE GOING TO SEE CLAPTON!!!” As soon as we pulled into the HP Pavilion parking lot, the gig was up and Chris knew exactly what we were going to do. The beaming smile on Chris’ face was enough for me, but the real prize was when Clapton came out and the crowd went nuts. He must have known there was a portion of the audience crossing this off their bucket lists since he played all the hits and left nothing on the table. Clapton is completely captivating and puts on a show full of soul. He said it best when it came to how we felt about the night…
