It's a helluva start, being able to recognize what makes you happy. |
Aaaahhhhhh..... the inaugural Mystery Date. We didn't quite know what what we were doing, or how it would go, or much less where it would lead, but we knew we liked the idea of Mystery Date… I wanted it to be special as we were still very much in the early stages of courtship. So naturally, I biased the date toward the interests and amusements of the girl I was trying to woo. |
I put my thinking cap on and an idea came to me: what better way to charm a woman than with a stadium full of flowers at the San Francisco Flower and Garden Expo! Now that's the ticket!
The Expo took place at the Cow Palace in Daly City, CA. Due to the industrial exterior, Kathleen was really thrown off the trail as we drove up. She was pretty much guessing up until I paid the entrance fee!
The industrial exterior quickly gave way to a lush and verdant environment as we entered the inner sanctum, and the flora unfolded all around us. Surprisingly, there were more landscaped sceneries than I was expecting, but a plentiful diversity of flowers and plants were there to behold.
As I watched Kathleen buzz from booth to booth, I knew the date was a hit and the mystery leading up to it made it all the better. I gotta agree with Lucille, it's a helluva start to recognize what makes me happy!
