San Francisco offers so many new and fresh adventures that when different friends mention the same thing as a “must do”, you got to squeeze it in. The Glide Memorial Church Sunday Celebration was one such experience and I figured a Mystery Date was the perfect opportunity to plan an excursion to the iconic church. So on this beautifully sunny Sunday, we walked over from our apartment to the Church and just “happened” to run into our good Supper Club friends, Matt and Jodi. Always up for a new adventure, they also wanted the full Glide experience.
We rolled into the packed congregation (with people from all walks of life) and found a pew that could hold the four of us. There was a lot of soul shaking gospel music, loud congregational spirits and of course the famous Reverend Cecil spoke with his wife, Janice. I have to admit I was a bit surprised at how spiritual the whole experience was!
With refreshed souls and suddenly empty stomachs, we cruised over to The Grove for brunch and lots of mimosas to digest yet another fun Mystery Date!
